Will Merchant (b. 2002) is an interdisciplinary artist currently based in Portland, OR. His process-oriented practice seeks to memorialize objects and moments through working closely with materials broken down by environmental, anthropocentric, and personal processes. Merchant’s work is not limited to sculpture, he is also interested in landscaping, furniture making, carpentry and all things craft. His goal in making is to bolster the relationships with our lived-in environments and deeper connect us to the environments we visit. He received his BA from Lewis & Clark College (2025) in studio art with honors.
