Monumental Pushpin
low fire stoneware
34'' x 24'' x 24''
2025
It is easy to forget about an average sized push pin. They can disappear behind a desk or even just on a busy carpet. It is equally as easy to bend one out of shape, leaving this object mass produced for its simplicity and utility utterly useless. Although push pins are practical and function well in many situations, the individual push pin is regarded as insignificant and easily replaceable. However, this monumental pushpin, scaled up 4000%, is much harder to miss. The space this pushpin takes up and its uselessness encourage us to rethink our attitudes toward seemingly unimportant everyday items and the waste they create.
